Korean auto giant Hyundai has previewed the upcoming generation of the Verna through a new concept. Simply called the Verna concept, this new creation has been unveiled at the ongoing Beijing Motor Show as one of Hyundai’s showstoppers.

The Verna concept is near-production ready and is conceived using Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design concept, meaning it doesn’t really look a whole lot different compared to the current model. Hyundai's designers, in fact, have taken an evolutionary approach and blended in modern age cues for the makeover.

The concept features a massive hexagonal grille, sharply styled headlights and a rather busy looking front bumper complete with multiple chrome and silver accents. While the side profile is pretty much unchanged, the rear-end features beautifully detailed wraparound taillights and a stubby boot lid.

While there are no details whatsoever on the engine and drivetrain bits, Hyundai will reveal the full specifications nearer to the official global launch later this year. As for the Indian market, Hyundai is likely to launch the next-gen Verna sometime next year to compete with the existing C-segment brigade including the Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
