Hyundai Intrado is said to be inspired by the undersides of a plane's wing, thereby rechristening the car as 'Intrado'. The car boasts of a lightweight framework owing to advanced super-lightweight steel body panels manufactured at Hyundai Motor's steel plant. Woong-Chul Yang, Vice Chairman, Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), Namyang R&D Centre, said, "Intrado reflects our innovative efforts in the area of advanced materials, while demonstrating the close collaboration between designers at Hyundai Design Centre Europe and engineers at HMC Namyang R&D Centre. The concept version of SUV Intrado unveiled at the Geneva Motor show is powered by a next-generation hydrogen fuel-cell power-train that runs on Li-ion 36 kW battery. The well engineered battery had been developed to be fully charged within just a few minutes. The Intrado concept SUV is capable of covering overing 600 kilometres on a full charge and emits only water as an emmission. A considerable reduction in weight and greater efficiency of its power-train has resulted in the vehicle being more responsive and agile driving dynamics. Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer, Hyundai Motor Group, said, “Effortless and sensual, Intrado reflects the open-mindedness and constant renewal of the Hyundai brand. It also shows that Hyundai wants its customers to rediscover the joy and freedom that should be associated with personal mobility. That's why this car has such purity of purpose – it's logical, lovable and livable."

On the exterior the car looks stunning with sharp cut aerodynamic styling. As per the press release, the Intrado's interior is based on usability and adaptability factor. The seals of opening panels have been designed to mate against the central carbon frame, thereby allowing the user to catch a glimpse of the carbon fibre whenever doors, hood or trunk are opened. Not so prominently visible components like 'see-through' air vents and seat clipping exposed frame are clearly visible in the concept version.
