The Tucson SUV is one of the most eagerly awaited cars from Hyundai. Due for unveiling at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016 event in India the vehicle is expected to arrive in showrooms by second half of this year. The upcoming Tucson would be positioned between Santa Fe and Creta to bridge the gap between them. Post launch the company aims at selling about 20,000 to 30,000 units every year.
The upcoming Hyundai Tucson would be powered by 1,995cc four-cylinder, turbo diesel engine that generates about 182 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Mated to six-speed automatic transmission it would also feature Hyundai’s Active On-Demand AWD system. The pricing aspect is unknown for now and it anticipated to be priced around 15-18 lakh in India. Post launch it may emerge as a tough competitor against Mahindra’s XUV500 and Tata’s upcoming Hexa.
