Hyundai Motor India has announced the price increase across all its models up to Rs 30,000 with effect from January 1. The South Korean automaker has claimed increase in cost of components and weak Rupee as the reason for hiking prices. This hike also includes the Creta SUV and the Elite i20.

Hyundai has been on a roll with regards to sale volumes achieving number like 10, 000 units for the Elite i20 and 12, 899 units for the Grand i10. These have no doubt been achieved on the back of Diwali sales and massive discounts on the latter.

Commenting on the hike, Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president, sales and marketing said, “In these challenging market conditions, we are constrained to consider the price increase on account of factors like increase in cost of components, weak rupee etc. The proposed price increase up to Rs 30000 will be effective from January 2016 across all models including Elite and Creta.”
