Hyundai to export 10,501 units of Next Gen Verna to Middle East

Post its success in India, the next gen Verna has now generated interest from the Middle East. Hyundai reportedly has received a record initial export order of 10,501 units of the new Verna from the Middle East markets. As compared to the earlier generations of the Verna and the Accent, Hyundai claims that the order for the new Verna is their single largest order till date. The next-gen Verna will be known as the Next Gen Accent in the Middle East markets.

Recently, Hyundai India had invited 33 distributors from the Middle East and other Asian countries to its production facility in Chennai. The guests were given a detailed plant tour, a presentation on the product, its quality parameters and the plant capabilities, which finally culminated with an exclusive drive experience of the Next Gen Verna. Speaking about it, Y K Koo, MD and CEO- Hyundai Motor India Limited said “The Next Gen VERNA has received an overwhelming response from domestic and export markets. We are very happy and proud to receive such a large single export order within one month of showcasing the product to the distributors from overseas markets. It is in perfect harmony with Hyundai’s commitment of ‘Make in India, for the world’ and also is in line with the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ Vision.”

In India, the next-gen Hyundai Verna is available in 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version generates 121bhp of power at 6,400rpm and 151Nm of peak torque at 4,850 rpm. The diesel version, on the other hand generates 126bhp of power at 4000rpm and an impressive torque of 260Nm from as low as 1,500rpm. Both the engines are available with six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options. The new Verna has received over 18,600 bookings and over 1,43,000 enquiries in just 2 months since its launch in India.
