The current Hyundai Creta has been around for some time now. The compact SUV received subtle model year updates from time to time, but a major facelift was long overdue. The Creta facelift is already on sale in the Chinese market. This will be the first major update for the D-segment SUV since its introduction in 2015. Although it will be limited to just cosmetic update, we could expect the addition of features and equipment as well. Hidden under the cladding we could expect a redesigned cascading grille similar to the Tuscon, slightly tweaked bumpers both fore and aft and some stylish alloys and body colour to keep things fresh.

On the inside, there will be a larger touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We can expect four airbags as standard as well. However, the most important addition to the cabin would be the distance-to-empty metre which is still absent even in the top spec Creta. Under the hood, the current drivetrains – a 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and 1.4-litre diesel – will be retained along with the automatic and manual transmission. Hyundai might bring in the new and updated Creta later this year in time for the festive season
