Hyundai had recently launched advanced version of its popular sedan, Hyundai Sonata. The company intends to strengthen its presence in the luxury car market and hopes that the premium sedans will help to pep up the sales. It expects to sell nearly 1000 units of the new Hyundai Sonata Transform in India.
"It is our endeavor to constantly upgrade our products; with the new Sonata we are looking to enhance our position in the luxury sedan segment. Unfortunately, the total market size for such premium cars was about 8,000 units last year. We expect to sell about 1,000 units of Sonata,” said HS Lheem, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India Limited.
Sonata’s 2.4 litre petrol engine variant is price at Rs 13.9 lakh, while its 2.0 litre diesel engine model is priced at Rs 14.9 lakh, and the automatic transmission variant is priced at Rs 15.9 lakh.
The company is now working on bringing their new SUV model Santa Fe to the Indian market.
