Hyundai Sonata has been a popular offering in the luxury car segment by the Korean carmaker across the globe. Days ahead of the Detroit Motor show, Hyundai has already showcased the Hybrid trim in Seoul. The new trim is said to be more stylish and powerful as compared to the outgoing version. As part of fresh upgrades the sedan gets a new electric oil pump and a considerably larger battery pack. Though the battery back is larger, the upcoming Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is stated to be 10% more fuel efficient than the existing version.
Under the bonnet, the new Sonata Hybrid shall be powered by 2.0-litre four cylinder petrol engine that generates about 156 PS of power output with about 190 Nm of torque output. Being a hybrid, the sedan also gets an electric motor that generates about 52 PS of power. The new vehicle is said to be a better performer than the existing 2.4 Liter petrol engine that serves the current generation. The upcoming Sonata Hybrid shall be mated to six-speed automatic transmission.
The new Sonata Hybrid trim is also stated to be more fuel efficient than the existing version and delivers an impressive 18.2 Kmpl. As part of fresh upgrades the vehicle gets new grille, tail lamps, rear diffuser, lip spoiler and an under-body cover.
