      Hyundai has been the only international brand that has been creating a little trouble for India's favorite Maruti Suzuki in terms of annual sales numbers. The Korean car-maker Hyundai has also earned the title of being the largest car exporter in India. Recently, Hyundai has further added a new LPG variant in its Grand i10 fleet in the country. The newer LPG fuel type is available in Magna variant at an attractive price tag of about Rs. 4.92 Lakhs for the solid color variant , whereas the metallic paint variant is priced at about Rs. 4,96,034 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Earlier this year, Hyundai has also launched the new Verna GL trim at Rs 7.17 lakh for the petrol variant, whereas the diesel version is priced at about Rs. 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      The Hyundai Grand i10 is available in Petrol as well as Diesel variant. The petrol version shall be powered by 1.2 litre Kappa2 engine that generates about 83Ps of power, whereas the diesel version shall be powered by 1.1 U2 diesel engine that generates about 71Ps of power. The petrol version is mated to optional five speed manual and four speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission. The 2nd generation CRDi technology in diesel offers improved operating pressure, low compression ratio, light weight engine block and an enhanced atomization of fuel. A combined effort from all these ensures more performance, more efficiency with lower running costs, lower NVH and lesser emissions.

      The Grand i10 seems to be a little peppy and jumps from rest in an impressive manner. This car isn't for highway racing, but its just perfect for city commute. Gear ratio has been attained with perfection to enable the driver to avoid frequent gear-shifts. Suspension in the Hyundai i10 has been designed to handle potholes at a lower speed, whereas taking on a bump at a higher speed may get slightly rough. Steering is responsive and handles well under all circumstances. Interiors in the i10 hatchback has always been impressive, and the new Grand i10 doesn't disappoint you either. Beige plastic in the lower end of the car gives it a rich feel. Furthermore, the cabin space features ample legroom and storage space. As per sources, the boot space in the Grand i10 is better as compared to Swift hatchback.

      The newly introduced Hyundai Verna GL is powered by a 1.4 litre VTVT motor that generates a max power output of about 105 Bhp with a top torque of about 138 Nm. Whereas, the Diesel variant gets a 1.4 litre CRDI power-train that produces a maximum power of about 89 Bhp with 224 Nm of peak torque. The engine in the Petrol as well as the Diesel variants are mated to a five speed manual gearbox and six speed transmission respectively.

      Hyundai Verna GL is loaded with standard features like keyless entry, a 2 Din Audio system, electric power-steering with tilt function, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, and manual air conditioner. The GL trim has been introduced as a replacement to the basic 1.4 litre Petrol and Diesel variants of Verna. The recently launched Verna GL sports two-piece bezel design headlamps with freshly added LED positioning lamps that provide maximum luminance during nighttime driving. The sedan sports fine fog lamps that blends with the wide and bold grill. The flowing design of the bonnet showcases the powerful machine under the hood. The rear combination lamps at the rear leaves a light trail for better visibility to following traffic.

      Speaking more on industry trend, Srivastava added, “The good news is that industry is expected to grow in single digit in this calender year and the company would do better than the industry. Last year, our market share stood at 20.7 per cent. We believe we will further increase our market share. We will do better than the industry.”
