Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) sold 42,327 cars in India in February 2017, registering a hike of four per cent in sales. The company had sold 40,716 units of cars in the same month last year.

Apart from this boost, the carmaker also exported 10,407 vehicles last month. In comparison to the corresponding month in 2016, the manufacturer had sold 9013 units overseas showing an increase of 15.5 per cent in sales. In all, Hyundai's cumulative sales sum up to 52,734 units last month as against 49,729 units they sold in the same period last year showing a hike of six per cent.

Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, sales and marketing, HMIL, said, "Hyundai with an all-time highest ever sales of 9,002 units of Creta SUV had a domestic all models volume of 42,327 with a growth of four per cent with increased customer visits and conversions on the strength of improved customer confidence generated by the Union Budget positively impacting the customer disposable income and overall business sentiments. With this Hyundai also continues its positive growth momentum month on month strengthening its brand trust within the customers.”

Hyundai's domestic sales show a growth owing to their strong product line-up. The latest Creta SUV has a good demand ever since it was launched in July 2015 and continues to pull up sales numbers for HMIL. The Korean manufacturer has been able to sustain the growth trajectory in sales due to good demand for the Elite i20, Creta and Grand i10.
