Globally popular ecommerce portal Amazon has partnered with Hyundai to let customers book a test drive of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Launched on a pilot basis, the program is called ‘Prime Now. Drive Now.’ The program runs in two phases, the first one was held last weekend on August 20-21 and the next one will be held on August 27-28. For now, the company is testing the project only in LA and Orange County markets and based on its success might introduce it other markets as well.

Hyundai has launched the new Elantra in India today and the online portal being a popular platform here, it is to be seen if the automaker will plan to accept new car bookings or test drive requests online. As for the current program in the international market, a company representative will be driving the vehicle to potential customers for a test drive. Customers can choose for a 45 to 60-minute test drive between 9am to 7pm.

Hyundai has launched the new Elantra in India at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The new premium sedan is available in S, SX, SX AT, SX (O) and SX (O) AT variants. The petrol Elantra variant is powered by a 2.0-litre engine which generates 152bhp of power and 190Nm of torque, while the diesel trim gets a 1.6-litre mill rated at 128bhp of power and 265Nm torque.
