The Hyundai Xcent was launched today in a special edition variant to celebrate the carmaker's 20 years in India. The petrol trim costs Rs 6.22 lakh and the diesel version is priced at Rs 7.15 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The S variant of the compact sedan gets some changes to the external appearance and some new equipment in the cabin. Cosmetically, there is a chrome finish on the lower front grille, side body decals, a 20th anniversary badge, a boot lip spoiler with reflector strip and a chrome accent on the boot lid. The features in the cabin include black and red dual-tone fabric upholstery and a new 6.2-inch Blaupunkt touchscreen audio system.

There will be no changes to the powertrain of both the petrol and diesel versions of the Xcent. The petrol trim will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre Kappa engine that produces 71bhp of power and 100Nm of torque. The diesel gets a 71bhp 1.1-litre mill and both these engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

This Anniversary edition is more expensive than the standard S variant by around Rs 20,000. However, only 2,400 samples of this special edition Xcent will be produced. The car will be offered only in two body colour options - white and silver.
