Hyundai launches traffic safety campaign in India

Hyundai recently started a traffic safety campaign in India. 'Safe Move' is an initiative under the collaboration of the ministry of road transport and highways, which will promote road safety and educate children about the best practices on the road.

Hyundai asserts ‘Safe Move’ is one of the four key pillars of their global corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign on traffic safety. The other pillars include Green Move, Happy Move and Easy Move. The basic idea behind the inception of this campaign is to impart knowledge about traffic rules amongst the youth. This information will be spread through different mediums including online and offline engagement methods.

Shah Rukh Khan, leading bollywood actor and Hyundai's brand ambassador since 1998, will also help in the public outreach of this campaign. The company will conduct different activities promoting road safety in 40 schools across five cities including Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. A flash card based board game called TruDO will make this a fun event for the children apart from educating them and inculcating safe riding habits in them.

The manufacturer has also designed a special website for children called ‘Kids Hyundai’ (www.kids.hyundai.co.in). It will act as good medium to host the 'Safe Move' initiative online. It will carry news, animation episodes, online engagements, car production, car history and evolution related content. It will also help in the registration for the various programs under the initiative apart from being a useful method in promoting the program.

Children are the future of a nation and this campaign is an effort to reach out to children to educate them with best practices of the traffic safety."

This is a good initiative taken by a manufacturer to promote road safety in our country. These programs will help cultivate safe road practices and habits in the masses from an early age. Initiatives like these are a significant step to spread road safety awareness, leading to a safer road environment and eventually reducing the fatalities and injuries.
