Korean automaker has always been updated with times. At the recent Hyundai International Powertrain Conference, the company introduced a new 1.6-litre GDI engine that has been uniqly designed to deliver enhanced performance and impressive fuel efficiency while also driving down on the production cost and CO2 emission levels. Hyundai also revealed its new 8-speed automatic transmission with advanced front-wheel drive system.
The new 1.6-litre GDI engine is ready for future hybrid models and generates about 102bhp of power and 147Nm of torque. It is likely to be introduced in new models that may make it to Indian market sometime next year. The 8-speed automatic transmission also claims to deliver about 7.3% better fuel economy as compared to the current generation 6-speed automatic transmission unit. As to which models would be the first ones to get it, it shall only be known in the coming days.
