      Hyundai i20 Active set to be launched next week

      Reports surfacing on the internet and in the media suggest that Hyundai i20 Active is likely to hit showrooms sometime next week. The eagerly awaited i20 Active from the South Korean manufacturer was spotted by sources and car aficionados got an insight into what they can expect from the vehicle. If the images are to be believed then the car is likely to be avialable with two colour options in terms of interiors – Tangerine Orange/Black and Aqua Blue/Black.

      Several modifications have been made to the interiors to the existing design of the i20, such as an altered dashboard and matching upholstery. Other than this, exteriors of this car will see changes like new bumpers (front and rear), i20 Active badge, plastic claddings and roof spoiler. Hyundai i20 Active has been conceptualised styled and designed in the firm’s Motor Design Centre located in Russelsheim, Germany. This car is likely to come with a new front fascia along with projector headlamps, new front grille and daytime running LED lights.

      Hyundai is expected to feature similar engine options in i20 Active same as its sibling Elite i20, which is powered by petrol unit capable of developing 81 BHP of power and peak torque of 114 Nm. The diesel version of this car produces 89 BHP of power and up to 220 Nm of torque. Transmission options likely to be available in both the trims are five-speed and six-speed manual, respectively.

      The Indian market has seen a pool of crossover vehicles being recently launched. Post launch the Hyundai i20 Active is set to compete against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. Hyundai i20 is likely to be launched at a price range of INR 6-8 lakh.
