      Hyundai i20 Active launching today

      Hyundai India will launch the highly-anticipated i20 Active pseudo crossover in the country today. After the Grand i10, Xcent and Elite i20, it will be the fourth Hyundai car to make its global debut in India. The i20 Active was designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany and the crossover will directly rival against Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. The crossover is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rss. 8 lakh.

      The i20 Active is basically a crossover based on Hyundai's Elite i20 hatchback. The crossover features a new front fascia with projector headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, fog lamps, new grille and bumper. AT the back, the car has new bumper that accommodates new circular reflectors, roof spoiler, plastic claddings and new i20 Active badge. In order to offer a sporty character to the crossover, the car gets extra body cladding, skid plates, roof spoiler, new 16-inch alloy wheels and roof rails.

      The car has a ground clearance of 190mm, which is around 20mm higher than the Elite i20 hatchback. It will come in two different interior colour options including Tangerine Orange & Black, Aqua Blue & Black.

      The Hyundai i20 Active will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol unit is a 1.2-litre motor that produces 83PS of power and 114

      Nm of peak torque, the oil burner is a 1.4-litre motor that churns out a maximum power output of 90PS and a peak torque of 220Nm. The petrol engine will be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel unit will get a six-speed manual gearbox.
