The i10 hatchback for the Chinese market is expected to be manufactured at the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture plant in China and is expected to be launched sometime in 2015. Currently the Korean car-maker manufactures the i10 for a global market and is available in different engine variants like 1.0 three-cylinder petrol, a 1.2 four-cylinder petrol, and a 1.1 three-cylinder diesel. For now, the Chinese version may not get a diesel version and may be launched with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that generates about 81bhp of power with 114Nm of torque output. Exact technical specification may be revealed by Hyundai during an official launch.

The i10 hatchback on a global level seems to be a little peppy and jumps from rest in an impressive manner. This car isn't for highway racing, but its just perfect for city commute. Gear ratio has been attained with perfection to enable the driver to avoid frequent gear-shifts. Suspension in the Hyundai i10 has been designed to handle potholes at a lower speed, whereas taking on a bump at a higher speed may get slightly rough. Steering is responsive and handles well under all circumstances. Interiors in the i10 hatchback has always been impressive. Furthermore, the cabin space features ample legroom and storage space. The configuration for the Chinese version may remain more or less the same as the Indian version of the i10 hatchback.

Moreover, the Chinese version of the i10 hatchback shall receive rear AC vent, 2-DIN music system with 1GB hard disk and rear parking sensors as a standard feature. The vehicle is also expected to be loaded with safety features such as EBD, ABS and rear passenger airbags that are mandatory as per government safety norms. As per sources, the car is expected to retail with a price tag of 60000 yuan.
