The Elite i20 hatchback from Hyundai motors India Ltd (HMIL) has been a grand success in terms of achieving good sales numbers in the domestic market. To celebrate the first year of success, Hyundai India has launched the Celebration Edition of Elite i20. The special edition is stated to be based on the Sportz trim and has been offered at an additional cost of about Rs 30,000. Therefore, bringing the petrol trim cost to about Rs 6.69 Lakhs and the diesel trim at Rs 7.84 Lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi based.
Hyundai India has reportedly only rolled out about 600 units of the Celebration edition Elite i20 variant. To offer a limited edition feel, the stylish hatchback has received sporty body decals, gloss black roof wrap and a special edition badging at the back. Additionally, the vehicle gets 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and blacked out B and C Pillar to offer a sporty look. The Celebration Edition Elite i20 has been offered only in white.
In terms of features, the vehicle offers new upholstery and a new touchscreen unit. Being offered as a fully loaded trim, the vehicle shall also receive features like 2-Din music system with Bluetooth functionality, 6 speakers and climate control functions. As for safety, the vehicle shall get features like driver side airbags, ABS, adjustable steering wheel, reverse parking camera and the power retractable ORVMs.
Under the hood, the vehicle shall continue being powered by 1.2 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with five-speed manual gearbox, that would generate about 82bhp of power with 115Nm of torque. The 1.5 Litre diesel trim mated to a six-speed manual transmission shall be capable of generating about 89bhp of power with about 220Nm of torque. Loaded with interesting set of features, the Elite i20 Celebration Edition is indeed a good proposition in its segment.
