Hyundai India is planning to launch a series of new and facelifts in the country in 2015. The company is gearing up for the launch of Verna facelift, which has already been spotted various times while testing on Indian roads. The South Korean automaker is also aiming to enter into the growing compact SUV and crossover segments. Hyundai will launch the ix25 compact SUV, which is currently on sale in the Chinese market. Adding to it, the Elite i20 based crossover is also likely to hit the Indian shores in early next year.

The Elite i20 Crossover has also been spotted on tests in the outskirts of Chennai. It will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and the Fiat Avventura, which have been receiving a positive response from buyers. The launch of this crossover will be followed by the introduction of Hyundai ix25 compact SUV. The Etios Cross is equipped with various premium features such as projector headlamps, petal-shaped alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps, etc.

To add some sporty character to the hatchback-based crossover, the company has added front and rear skid guards, side body cladding and roof rails. The company has also raised the ground clearance to help it tackle Indian road conditions better than the hatchback. The car will share its engine lineup with the hatchback model. The petrol model would get the 1.2-litre unit, while the oil burner is the 1.4-litre U2 CRDi unit.
