Hyundai, the South Korean automaker is getting aggressive with its product expansion strategy for the Indian market. The country’s second largest-selling carmaker is aiming to launch a series of new vehicles in the next couple of years. Adding to it, Hyundai is also refreshing its entire lineup. Moreover, the company will also introduce the updated Elantra sedan, which is scheduled to be launched by mid-2015.

The current generation Hyundai Elantra is facing stiff competition from the likes of Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta. The updated model will get a host of upgrades to both exteriors and interiors. It will get Hyundai’s design philosophy- the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, which we have already seen in the company’s new models including Elite i20. The Neo Elantra Fluidic facelift is likely to get new front fascia, inspired by the Genesis saloon. The front features a hexagonal shaped chrome grille, which is complemented by sharper headlamps with daytime running lamps. The front and rear bumpers are all new, while the rear get slightly modified LED tail-lights. .

The exact details on the changes given to the interiors are still unknown, but we believe that the vehicle could get an updated infotainment system and more upmarket upholstery. The engine lineup is likely to remain unchanged. The other mechanical changes include new suspension setup to offer better handling and drivability.
