The newly launched Creta SUV from Hyundai has emerged as a strong proposition in its segment. Just days before its official launch on 21st July, the company had already received bookings for around 10,000 units. Owing to its immense popularity the company has already surpassed bookings of around 40,000 units. Going by industry trend, it has been seen that new cars sell well initially and it soon witnesses a drop as its newness factor diminishes and new cars enter market. But in Creta's case the dealers reportedly did not see a major drop even after Maruti Suzuki's first crossover S-Cross was launch in next few weeks.

Hyundai dealers have also stated to sources that they continued to receive consumer attention and inquiries for Creta in their showrooms even after other newer models from other carmakers entered the market. They also revealed that a majority of Creta buyers were existing Hyundai owners who intended on opting for a bigger vehicle.

Hyundai Creta has been offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options, where dealers have reported a higher demand for top-end model. The constant demand for the vehicle has reportedly pushed diesel automatic delivery to about six to eight months, while the petrol and diesel manual manual trims have attracted a waiting period for about three to four months.
