Husqvarna had shown two retro concepts at the Milan Show in November. Interestingly, these are now all set to become production models as confirmed by the MD of the company. The two concepts that are likely to undergo production are 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen. Sources close to the development process have confirmed that the frame and engine from KTM’s RC390 and Duke 390 will form the basis for these models. Both these models are likely to go to sale from 2017.

401 Vitpilen has a modern design while the 401 Svartpilen has more of a scrambler look with stylish tires Reinhold Zens. A senior company official from Husqvarna while interacting with Swedish magazine Bike told that auto lovers can expect these bikes in the market by 2017. Though he had some reservations on the final designs of the bikes but said that the styling would be the same. There could be some minor alterations in design as certain rules and regulations need to be followed.

KTM has owned Husqvarna since 2013 and its influence on final styling of the concept bikes would be evident. Specification wise, both 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen could have some similarity to Duke 390s with 43.5 bhp of maximum power produced from 375 cc single-cylinder engine.
