      During the first half of 2013, the Indian car market witnessed the launch of many new vehicles and the same trend is expected to continue during the latter part of the year. Now with the approaching festive season, car makers would be looking to launch their new vehicles as the sales generally rise during this time period. As far the line-up goes, car companies like Skoda, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan are in the pipeline to launch their vehicles.

      Skoda recently unveiled its new generation Octavia model in India and it is said that the car might launch in India during the festive season. It must be noted that Skoda Octavia has been introduced in global markets and it is currently on sale in Europe. Till now, the company has not revealed full specifications of Octavia model meant for India and it is expected that the car might be offered in different engine options of 1.8-litre turbo charged TSI petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo charged TDI diesel engine, besides the 1.4 TSI engine. However, doubts still remain on the availability of a lighter engine option. The overall dimensions of the car have been increased tremendously in all proportions. Car enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for new Skoda Octavia to arrive in the Indian car market.

      Nissan Terrano, the compact SUV of Nissan is all ready grabbing the headlines for its aggressive styling and power packed engine. Nissan has officially unveiled the vehicle and has publicly announced each and every detail regarding the specifications of the vehicle well before its launch. However, the company has not given any information regarding its price but industry experts are saying that Terrano might be more costlier than it sibling Renault Duster. As far the looks of the car concerned, Nissan has efficiently managed to make Terrano bear a distinct identity than the Renault Duster. Some of the major changes seen in the compact SUV of Nissan is the revamped front fascia with newly designed front bumpers having a big chrome grille apart from the elongated headlights. The compact SUV of Nissan would be available in petrol and diesel variants. The petrol engine will have 1.6-litre MPFI engine that has the ability to yield 102 bhp of power alongside 145 Nm of torque. While the diesel version of Terrano will be offered in in different tuned options of 83 bhp, 108 bhp, 83 bhp and 108 bhp having the same 1.5-litre K9K DCi engine.

      Mercedes-Benz CLA

      The latest vehicle to feature from Mercedes-Benz's Indian line-up will be CLA, which was formally launched at the 2013 North American International Auto Show. This car is expected to be available in different variants ranging from CLA 180, CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, CLA 200, CLA 250 AND CLA 220 CDI. As claimed by the company, CLA happens to be the most aerodynamic production vehicle ever built beating the likes of Tesla Model S. In India, CLA is expected to be launched in the latter part of 2013 and the car has generated a lot of interest among the Indian buyers. Industry experts feel CLA will be positioned below the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. As told by sources, the upcoming model will be assembled at the facility in Chakan, located in Pune, Maharashtra. Although many would expect the CLA to be a small sized sedan, it will be longer and wider than the C-Class. Industry experts that the smart and classy looks of the CLA will work in its favour. It must be noted that the design of Mercedes-Benz CLA is similar to the A-Class while its interiors have a resemblance to the A-Class hatchback.
