The Honda Civic no longer exists in the Indian market; however, things are quite different when you look at some of the major markets like the UK. There the Civic is available in a range of body styles and multiple variants and is doing rather well. Now, Honda UK has added a new entry-level variant called 1.4 i-VTEC Civic Sport.
This new variant will become the cheapest model in the Civic range when it hits showrooms in the UK next month. It’s priced at £18,360 (Rs 17.43 lakh) on-road and joins the existing 1.6-litre, 120bhp diesel engine and the 1.8-litre, 142bhp petrol engine in the Civic Sport line up.
Despite its entry-level placement, Honda says the 1.4-litre Civic is the more sporty and aggressive version of the family hatchback. It features a colour-coded rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels and shares some of the striking design bits of the Civic Type R, with a lower grille mesh and a black roof lining. The 1.4-litre i-VTEC single overhead camshaft engine is tuned to offer 100bhp of power and 127Nm of torque.
With the next generation Civic concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and due in showrooms at the start of 2017, Honda UK is revising the current Civic family. The 1.4 i-VTEC Civic Sport will be available in the UK from May onwards.
