Honda Motor Corporation is currently struggling to absorb the detrimental effects of inevitable natural disasters. In March 2011, tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand forced Honda Motor Corp. to halt its production. Moreover, its recent car models were criticised on grounds of styling and driving.
However, the Japanese auto maker is striving to get back on track by bringing new models at the next month Detroit Auto Show. The Honda Motor Corp. looks forward to make up for criticism that came its way due to Acura. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Honda, Takanobu stated, “To be very honest, I’ am not satisfied with Acura.” He added, “Something has to be done to help it stand out, to be more unique and return to the sporty image it had when there was the Integra and NSX.”
Honda Motor Corp. decided to re-evaluate Acura on the grounds of environmental and social responsibilities. With the new plan, the Japanese car maker has decided to reveal three new models of Honda Acura at the North American Auto Show that will be held at Cobo Hall, Detroit. The company will line-up the next NXS, production version of ILX and redesigned RDX. The ILX model will be produced in the U.S. and would be larger than CSX model. The Honda NXS model is expected to enter the market in 2013.
Honda is also planning to introduce a sedan model that would act as a replacement for RL. The substitute of RL will add a new feature in the form of the groundbreaking SH-AWD system.
As Honda Motor Corporation is set to enter the Detroit Auto Show with all new improved car models, one can hope that the new strategy helps the company to regain its lost stature.
