Cumulative sales from the domestic market for the last month were lower than the previous year. Last year, the manufacturer has posted a growth of 52 per cent with monthly domestic sales of 20,166 units in October 2015 as against 13,242 units in October 2014. In the corresponding month this year exports stood at 289 units.

Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, HCIL, said, "Strong demand during the festival period led to Honda’s highest monthly retail sales of 2016 in October month. Due to increased car purchases in Navratra, Dhanteras and Diwali, the customers took deliveries of more than 20,000 Honda cars in this month."

On the plus side, last month's sales are still the highest monthly retail sales for the manufacturer for 2016. More than 20,000 cars were sold in the festive season. Looking at the model-wise break-up of sales as shown below, it is clear that the City sedan continues to lead the way in Honda's October sales leap.
