      Honda Mobilio beats Suzuki Ertiga in Indonesia to become the second best seller

      Japanese car-maker Honda has recently ventured into the Indonesian market with the Mobilio MPV earlier this year. As per a recent report, the MPV has been a huge hit in the Indonesian market and has reported sales of about 18,341 units. Currently, the Toyota Avanza holds the top spot in terms of sales in the Indonesian market. Till last month, Suzuki Ertiga held the second spot which now been claimed by Honda's Mobilio which has sold about 10,592 units in March as against 3,475 units sold by Suzuki Ertiga.

      As per company officials, the Ertiga MPV has received about 30,000 bookings for the Mobilio since its launch early this year. Moreover reports suggest that the MPV holds about a good 18% share in the small MPV segment. The hotselling Mobilio MPV is all geared up to make it to the Indian market. The Japanese car-maker had also recently hinted on beginning the production very soon for the much awaited MPV by previewing the vehicle on its official website.

      Honda Mobilio MPV is available in Petrol and Diesel variants. The petrol version shall be powered by 1.5 Liter petrol engine. The diesel variant also gets a 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine. Both the engines have been mated to 5 Speed manual gearbox. The upcoming Jazz hatchback is expected to be available in two fuel options – 1.2 litre petrol and the new 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The petrol engine generates about 86PS with 109Nm of torque, whereas its diesel counterpart generates about 100PS with 200Nm of torque. Both the engines may be mated to a five-speed gearbox as seen in petrol versions of Amaze and Brio models. Based on unofficial reports, the Mobilio MUV is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of about 25.8 kmpl.

      The interiors seems have been well thought by Honda. The lower portion of the instrument panel has been reduced and the seats carry a concave design to deliver maximum leg room. The interior is quite spacious and carries the rich Honda feel. On the exterior front, the Mobilio MPV carries sharp contours and looks decent yet classy. The window for the last row passengers looks stylish and attention grabbing. The higher end version of this MPV gets a roof mounted spoiler and stylish reflectors placed at the base of the door. Details on the pricing aspect has not been revealed for now. It is anticipated that the car maybe launched sometime in the second half of this year.
