      Honda launches petrol powered City sedan in Nepal at Rs 21.40 lakh

      Honda has launched fourth generation of Honda City sedan in India’sneighboringcountry, Nepal. Priced at Rs 21.40lakhfor the basic model, Honda City will be available only in petrol version in Nepal. Putting all the speculations to rest regarding the export of new City sedan to Nepal, the car maker has put on sale new City sedan there, however the vehicle will be produced in India only. The top-of-the line variant of City ,VX CVTis available for Rs 29.71lakhin Nepal.SyakarTrading Company, the only distributor of Honda cars in Nepal eyes selling at least 250 units of new City sedan within 12 months in Nepal.

      Diesel variant has not been launched in Nepal, however in India, diesel variant is doing exceedingly well. Under the hood is the 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine that engenders a maximum power output of 119 PS at 6600 RPM and a top torque of 145 Nm at 6400 RPM. Petrol engine is paired with a five speed manual transmission, CVT gearbox is also on offer. Mechanically, the Nepalese version is similar to the Indian version of City sedan.

      Honda also launched 2014 City sedan in Thailand and a few days ago in Malaysia. In India, the sedan was introduced in the beginning of this year. Ever since its launch in India the sedan has received an unparalleled response. Diesel variant which is specifically designed keeping its high demand for the domestic market garnered 10,000 bookings within a month of its induction.At the 2014 Auto Expo, Honda displayed Mobilio MPV and the revamped Jazz. Honda’s presence in MPV segment in India is zilch with no product on offer, with Mobilio the Japanese car maker eyes captivating this segment too. In hatchback segment Brio is performing well, however,its premium hatchback Jazz failed to impress customers despite price reduction. Honda will soon be launching new Jazz in India which has been spotted undergoing test rounds in the country.
