The facelifted Honda Amaze has been launched at a starting price of Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). This is the first revision for the car since 2013 and has come as a mid-life cycle facelift and gets many updates both to the exterior and interior. The new top-end variant of the compact sedan is priced at Rs 8.19 lakh. The car is now offered in a new bluish titanium colour apart from the standard six colour options - majestic blue metallic, taffeta white, carnelian red pearl, urban titanium metallic, golden brown metallic and alabaster silver metallic.
Coming to the other changes on the Honda Amaze facelift; upfront, there is a new chrome grille, a revised bumper and new fog-lamp enclosures. At the back, there are not many changes apart from the revised tail lamps. Inside, the dashboard is new with rectangular AC vents, a new instrument cluster, a touchscreen AVN system, automatic climate control, etc.
The revised Amaze still gets the same powertrain options. The petrol trim is powered by the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine (87bhp, 109Nm) and the diesel variant gets the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor (99bhp, 200Nm). These engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, with the availability of the new CVT automatic transmission for the petrol model.
Though the facelifted Honda Amaze comes powered by the same engine options as the current model, these handful of cosmetic changes and new equipment have given it a new appeal. Hopefully, this mid-life refresh will again boost the sales numbers of this compact sedan, which was an instant success when launched for the first time in 2013. The Amaze competes in the compact sedan segment in India competing with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest and the Ford Figo Aspire.
