Honda Jazz will now come equipped with dual airbags as a standard fitment across all its variants. The Jazz was the only car in the Honda’s line-up without the dual airbags as standard. Its competitors - the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai Elite i20 – though came with airbags as standard on all trims.
Honda Jazz now gets dual airbags as standard
Adding the safety feature in the Jazz resulted in a price hike of around Rs 12,000. Previously, the dual airbags were available only on the V, SV, and VX variants. But now even the base E and S variants will be equipped with the driver and front passenger airbags as standard. So after the revised price, the base variant E starts from Rs 5.81 lakh which was previously priced Rs 5.69 lakh. Likewise, the S variant starts from Rs 6.44 lakh now, as compared to Rs 6.33 lakh previously (ex-showroom Delhi).
This is inline with the government of India’s call on making airbags mandatory on all cars by October 2017 in order to curb the number of accidents in the country.
