      Honda displays new AC-X concept plug-in hybrid at the Tokyo Motor Show

      The Japan based leading car maker Honda has showcased its AC-X Concept car at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. The Honda AC-X concept referred as Advanced Cruiser eXperience by the company carries a plug-in hybrid system at its heart. A number of styling cues of the car have been borrowed from company’s FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle.

      Besides carrying a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine at its heart, the plug-in hybrid system also carries two electric motors to add-up to the power of the car. As per the car’s mechanism, it run’s first 31 miles on electric mode, and offers a top speed of 61 miles per hour in EV mode.

      In a bid to ensure a safe and comfortable ride, an automatic model has also been added. Thus, if you are in a hurry, you can use the electric model of the car, and if you are not pressed for time then you can shift to slower pace EV driving mode.

      The other attractions of the new AC-X (Advanced Cruiser eXperience) concept include a number of aerodynamic elements and unique transparent wheel covers that adds to the style of the car.
