      Honda CR-V facelift images revealed ahead of official debut at Paris Motor Show

      Before its global unveiling at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Honda has revealed images of tweaked Honda CR-V. Other than images, Honda has also revealed few details about the SUV. The SUV has received vital modifications in terms of cosmetic changes and mechanical upgrades. Cosmetic upgrades have been dome primarily at the front that features newly designed head lights, front grille, fog lights, skid-plate and bumper. Changes made to the rear include new combination lamps a restyled tailgate design and bumper. Honda has added a new diesel engine to the new CR-V range that sums up the most preeminent changes made to the new CR-V.

      While this model will be rolled out in international markets, probability is high that Honda could also bring new CR-V to India.

      Available in international markets for the last two years, four-wheel drive variants of CR-V will get a more powerful 1.6 litre, four cylinder, i-DTEC diesel powertrain. The new engine has been taken from the company’s new Earth Dreams Technology range that has replaced the previous 2.2 litre, i-DTEC diesel engine. The 1.6 litre i-DTEC engine develops maximum power output of 158 Bhp and 350 Nm of top torque. A six-speed manual gearbox will be matched to the engine, besides this Honda will also offer a nine-speed automatic transmission mated to the engine. On the hand the twos-wheel drive variant will house the 118 Bhp version of the 1.6 litre i-DTEC engine and will be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.

      The 2.0 litre i-VTEC petrol engine will either be housed in the two-wheel drive variant or in the four wheel drive variant coupled to either manual or automatic five-speed tranny.
