Honda Civic Natural Gas, one of the most popular green cars in the US market, has won this year’s ‘Green Car of the Year Award’. The competition for this was very tough this year with a number of popular cars were nominated for the award including Ford Focus Electric, Honda Civic Natural Gas, Mitsubishi i, Toyota Prius and Volkswagen Passat.
The selection of Honda Civic for this prestigious award came as a surprise for some as the car was not hot favorite for this award. The award was given at the second day of the LA Auto Show. The Honda Civic Natural Gas is an EPA certified vehicle and has been appreciated by auto experts for its lowest emission levels among many of its competitors.
It is the only natural gas passenger vehicle in the US market that is produced on assembly lines. The car is fifth generation of the Honda Civic Natural Gas model that runs on clean fuel. The car is priced about 30 percent less as compared to the price of the gasoline model.
