The speculation about Honda CBR300R being launched in India has been doing rounds for quite some time now but no official confirmation has come from the Japanese automobile manufacture regarding the same.

According to sources, Honda CBR300R is inching closer to its entry in the Indian market and bike aficionados would soon see it in the country. The Honda CBR250R Repsol edition is already in the market and has been doing well, getting good responses from industry experts and customers.

At present, the scope for sports bikes is increasing in the country and the number of models being launched by companies is rising regularly. Kawasaki Ninja 300, Karizma ZMR and Pulsar 220, all have done well in the Indian market and hope to improve sales as time progresses. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has been performing exceptionally well in the country and sources claim that it is hoping to create a mark in the sports bike peripheral as well.

Honda has made a couple of changes to the new CBR300R, the biggest being to the engine, which has been tweaked and now displaces 286 cc. The weight of this bike has been considerably reduced to improve the power to weight ratio and thereby improve the performance. Honda CBR300R will produce an output level of up to 30 bhp along with a torque of 27 Nm.

Styling, always an important factor with sports bikes, has been changed for the Honda CBR300R as well. Its design is based on the highly popular CBR1000R Fireblade model, featuring a new cowl and split headlamps. The other styling features in this bike remain the same, which includes the handle and the instrument cluster. Industry experts believe that the design of Honda CBR300R is going to attract a number of youngsters in India.

The bigger question regarding the probable launch of Honda CBR300R still remains and nothing can be ascertained at the moment until the firm drops a slight hint. According to reports on the internet, Honda is testing the bike for Indian conditions and will be looking to launch in India by the end of 2014 or the beginning of 2015. As far as the pricing is concerned, Honda CBR300R will cost much lower than Kawasaki Ninja 300, which increases its chances of success in India. Though nothing can be said as of now, one would expect Honda to be proactive in launching CBR300R in the country soon to take another step towards market dominance.
