Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has sent a ‘block your date’ invite to media fraternity for a launch event on 19th November 2015. While there is no specific information about the product to be launched, we believe that it will be the Honda CB Hornet 160R. Though, the company might also introduce a new 125cc ‘mystery’ bike, instead of the CB Hornet, which was teased at the Honda RevFest. The Honda CB Hornet 160R, that might be introduced as a replacement of the CB Tigger, will compete against the Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer and others in the segment.

Powering the CB Hornet 160R will be a 162.71cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is equipped with Honda Eco Technology (HET). It’s the same powertrain that does duty to the Honda Unicorn 160. It produces a maximum power of 14.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 14.61Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine helps the vehicle offer high acceleration and sporty performance, says the company.

The bike rides on multi-spoke alloy wheels that are likely to be wrapped with 80/100-17and 130mm wide front and rear tyres respectively. It will also be equipped with telescopic front fork and semi-loaded rear mono suspension system. The Honda’s all-new CB Hornet derives its design inspiration from the CX-01 concept, which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The bike looks masculine and sporty with features like prominent fuel tank, headlamp with minimal fairing, silver tailpiece, split grab rails, X-shaped LED taillights, dual-tone front mud guard, high-mounted handlebar, highlight knee recesses, black centre piece and plastic side cowls, etc.
