      Honda cars India reports 18 per cent drop in sales in February 2018

      Honda cars India, one of the leading car manufacturer in India has reported 18 per cent drop in sales to 11,650 units as against 14,249 units sold in same period in 2017. However, the company has registered a cumulative growth of 13 per cent by selling 1,56,452 units during Apr’17 – Feb’18, as against 1,38,363 units in the corresponding period last year.

      Among a range of Honda products in India, the City, WR-V and Jazz have been top three sellers with 3,885 units, 3,364 units and 2,257 units respectively sold in February 2018. Sales for the Amaze has dropped to mere 933 units as the company has lowered its production to make way for the new Amaze. In the same month Honda has sold 822 units of the BR-V, while sales for the Brio and CR-V have been pretty low at 375 units and 14 units respectively. Total export for Honda stood at 600.

      Speaking on sales, Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “HCIL has witnessed strong sales momentum with the existing product line-up marking a cumulative growth of over 13% and we are confident of closing the financial year on a positive note. We showcased our upcoming models at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2018 which has created a significant buzz in the market. The planned reduction in volumes of current Amaze resulted in lower wholesale in February.”
