Honda has emerged as a strong brand in the Indian automobile market. Recently, Honda had managed to achieve impressive 1 Lakh sales mark for the Amaze sedan. The first MPV from Honda, named Mobilio has also been a strong seller in the Indian market. The Mobilio MPV from Honda reportedly has managed to garner about 5,530 units sales for August and has received over 20000 bookings for the vehicle.
The sales numbers of Honda City and Amaze have been at about 5,500 and 4,000 units respectively. With the increase in demand and launch of fresh models in the country Honda Cars India has reportd to sources that it has been planning to increase the sales outlet numbers from 170 spread across 107 location to about 230 outlets that shall be spread across 150 locations in this fiscal year.
Honda has reportedly received over 50,000 bookings for the City sedan post the new version launch earlier this year. Owing to huge orders and shifting of sedan's production to Tapukara plant the company had halted its sales for last month. With the onset of festive season and increase in demand, the plant shall work in second shift from November and increase the output numbers from 180,000 to 240,000 units.
