Honda Amaze waiting period almost three months

Honda Cars India Limited is working round the clock to ensure that logistics for the delivery of Amaze are kept in place, as demand for the new compact sedan seems to hit the roof. Reportedly, the waiting period for this vehicle has shot up to nearly four months. However, company officials have been working hard to bring it down to less than 3 months.

Interestingly, there is healthy demand for both petrol and diesel versions of the Amaze. Prior to the launch, it was expected that the diesel variants would generate high demand due to non-availability of the same from Honda. The company has also adjusted its production lines to ensure that diesel variants are produced more than the petrol ones, based on initial demand figures.

Honda Cars India has adjusted production lines based on initial demand ensuring that more diesel variants are produced as compared to petrol, as demand for the former seems to be robust. However, even the increase production of this sedan seems lagging behind the robust demand, resulting into long waiting period of over three months. However, if one wishes to beat the waiting time, one way to do this is to choose a colour which is not commonly selected. Interestingly, one can get around the waiting period, and expect vehicles to be delivered at the quickest possible time by choosing a vehicle colour that’s not too much in demand. In total, there are six different colours to choose from. These are Majestic Blue Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Taffeta White and Alabaster Silver Metallic.

Honda Amaze comes with two different engines, namely a 1.2 litre i-VTEC from the Brio and a new 1.5 litre i-DTEC motor. While the petrol engine produces 87 bhp, the diesel engine produces a maximum power of 99 bhp. Interestingly, this is the first diesel vehicle to ever be produced by Honda in India. After shying away from diesel engines for the last three years, the company finally gave it to market demands and this has resulted in tremendous gain.
