Honda will launch the all-new Amaze compact sedan in India on 16 May. Ahead of the official launch, the variant wise break-up of the compact sedan has surfaced online.

Honda Amaze variant details leaked ahead of launch

The Amaze will be offered in four variants – E, S, V and VX – across both petrol and diesel engine options. The CVT automatic will come in the V and VX trims. The entry-level E trim will have a chrome grille, dual-tone cabin with piano black finish and driver side auto windows. However, the air-con unit in the E will be a basic set-up. With the S variant, the compact sedan will get body coloured door handles, electric ORVMs with LED turn signals and shark fin antenna on the roof. Other features such as keyless entry, adjustable steering, adjustable front seats, rear armrest with cup holders and steering mounted audio controls will also be available. The music system in the S trim includes a 2-DIN audio system with four speakers, AM / FM / Aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

The V trim of the Amaze is where things start to get interesting. This trim comes with optional CVT transmission as well. It also has LED headlamps and front fog lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electrically operated boot, engine start/stop button and welcome lights. The CVT option will also get paddle shifters. In the top-of-the-line VX variant, the Amaze will come loaded with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice recognition and cruise control. The windows will also get a pinch guard protection in this spec.

The second-gen Amaze will have dual airbags, ABS, EBD and brake assist, ISOFIX and reverse parking sensors as a standard fitment. It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 89bhp/110Nm and the 1.5-litre four pot diesel putting out 99bhp/200Nm. The five-speed manual gearbox will be standard. However, the CVT which is mated to the 1.5-litre diesel has a power output of 79bhp and 160Nm.

When launched in India, the Amaze will continue to GO up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent, and Volkswagen Ameo. Prices are expected to slightly higher than the current model.
