Honda has achieved a sales landmark of two lakh units of the Amaze being sold in India. The compact sedan was first launched in April 2013, after which its demand kept on increasing and has now achieved this new milestone.
The Honda Amaze is the first product in Honda Cars’ line-up to be offered in both, petrol and diesel variants. In fact, this compact sedan marked the carmaker's entry into the diesel segment of cars. Apart from the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that powers the petrol Amaze, Honda's first 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-DTEC diesel motor was used by the diesel Amaze. This new Earth Dreams diesel motor has proved to become one of the most versatile diesel engines currently in production. It has helped Honda achieve a huge sales success overall.
Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Limited, said, “Honda Amaze has established itself as a very successful entry sedan in the Indian market. During the span of 3 years, it has achieved sales milestone of 200,000 units bringing new customers into Honda fold. The car has been extremely popular in both big and smaller cities due to its strong value offering and Honda’s core strengths of quality, durability and reliability. We are extremely thankful to all our customers for their continuous support and faith in the brand."
The facelifted Honda Amaze was launched in India in March this year. The changes on this 2016 iteration of the Amaze come in the form of improvements over its predecessor. It continues to return high sales figures for the manufacturer.
