Honda Cars India is offering the base petrol version (E MT) of Amaze entry level sedan to Bangalore audience at an introductory price tag of Rs. 5.09 lakh. Further, the Amaze petrol range goes on till Rs. 7.64 lakh for the top end automatic variant. The Honda Amaze diesel line-up is offered at a retail value of Rs. 6.20 lakh for the base trim, whereas the top level trim carries a price tag of Rs. 7.73 lakh (all prices in the ex-showrooms of Bangalore).

Speaking of under-the-hood specifications of Honda Amaze, the entry level sedan is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The sedan’s petrol versions are powered by 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine, borrowed from its hatchback sibling- Honda Brio. This 1.2 litre i-VTEC power-mill generates a maximum power output of 87 bhp. Further, the critically acclaimed 1.5 litre i-DTEC Honda Earth Dreams oil burner powers the Amaze diesel models and produces 99 bhp of peak power. The drivetrain featured in Amaze comes in both manual and automatic transmission assemblies, however automatic gearbox is offered only in the sedan’s petrol variants.

Since Indian audience is known to be obsessive about mileage figures of their vehicles, this Honda entry level sedan has been created to produce some incredible fuel efficiency figures. The manual version of Amaze delivers a mileage figure of 18 kmpl, whereas its automatic trim gives 15.5 kmpl, as per ARAI. However, it is the diesel Amaze that scores big points in terms of mileage with its best-in-class rating of 25.8 kmpl. At present, Honda Amaze is pitched against Swift DZire, Ford Classic, Tata Indigo eCS and Chevrolet Sail, amongst others in the entry level sedan segment of Indian auto market.
