Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, one of the leading two wheeler makers, has launched its new 110 cc Activa-I in the personal compact scooter segment. The Honda Activa-I carries an attractive price tag of Rs. 44,200 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) and would be available for sale across the country by end of this month.
In India, the automatic scooter segment is divided into three categories, viz. Moto Scooter, Personal Compact Scooter and Family Scooter. Before the new launch, the Honda line-up consisted only of vehicles belonging to Motorcyle and Family Scooter segment. The new launch marks the entry of the brand in the personal compact scooter segment. This segment enjoys the major chunk of the Indian market with around 25 per cent of volume. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India enjoys a massive 50 per cent market share in the automatic scooter segment of the country.
Personal compact scooters are those which are ideal for daily commuting owing to their light weight and easy driveability that makes it suitable for both genders. Keeping these points in mind, the company developed the Activa-I, which is the first of its kind for the manufacturer and the least expensive one in its line-up. With a list of comfort and convenience feature, the all new Activa-I stands apart from its competition. The new vehicle boasts of Combi Brake System, maintenance free battery, tubeless tyres, exceptional storage space of 18 litres and viscous air filter. This light weight scooter weighs only 103 kg and has a ground clearance of 165 mm, which makes it a pleasure to ride. Activa-I is a stunner as well with its subtle and appealing unisex styling. This model comes with stylish headlight, attractive indicators and chiseled muffler. The instrument panel provides all the necessary information to the rider.
Speaking of power and performance, the Honda Activa-I is powered by an advanced 109 cc air-cooler engine that develops a best-in-class power output of 8 bhp and top torque of 8.74 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine is equipped wirh the Honda Eco technology and delivers an impressive mileage of 60 kmpl. The new Activa-I is available in 4 exciting color options – Beige Metallic, Alpha Red Metallic, Pearl Sunbeam White and Purple Metallic.
