In a bid to further increase its market share, Hero MotoCorp is planning to bring-in the 2016 model year of the popular Splendor Pro commuter in India. In fact, the vehicle has been recently spotted at a dealership that hints at its early launch. The 2016 Hero Splendor Pro facelift will share its design cues with the Splendor+, and receive some noticeable cosmetic updates. Though, no mechanical changes are expected to be seen on the bike.

The new Splendor Pro will feature a new headlamp, upswept cowl and new trapezoidal tail lamp inspired from the Splendor iSmart. The fuel tank looks hefty with new scooped design and leg patches. The side profile, too, has been revised with HF-Deluxe-inspired flat tube grab rail and silencer heat shield. The new model ditches the steel luggage carrier. Other noteworthy updates include revised taillight, fuel knob with plastic cladding and a new three-pod instrument cluster with chromed bezels that has fuel gauge.

As mentioned above, the bike is likely to remain mechanically unchanged. It might continue to feature the existing 97.2cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine with OHC (overhead camshaft). It is capable to churn out a maximum power of 8.24bhp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. Though, the company might tune this powertrain for extra power and torque, and achieve better fuel efficiency. The carbon emissions might also be lower than the existing unit. Transmitting power to the wheels is a four-speed manual transmission.
