When Hero and Honda parted ways most of the bike enthusiasts around the country thought, it was over for the largest 2-wheeler manufacturing company. However, Hero MotoCorp has shown that it is capable of doing it all by its own and held on to its leading position in the market. The company plans to launch a number of its products in the upcoming months. Hero definitely would like to step up to the occasion and take the company up to the next level. The HX250R is slated for a release in January next year. On the other hand, Hero will look forward to strengthening its category of scooters with a new model ready for launch during the festive season. The 110 cc Hero Dash will make its way to the market sometime soon and will sit above the Maestro in the line-up of its scooters.
Hero definitely needs to put its feet on the accelerator to reduce competition from Honda. It is a known fact that the Honda has a major advantage of numbers because of the courtesy of its popular scooters in the market and Hero MotoCorp is well aware of that. Hero will take care by offering a variety of scooters in this segment to take on Activa, which is capable enough to compete against the various Hero models. The company has also shown that it will look forward to 150 cc models in the near future when it brought forward the Zir in 2014 at the Delhi Auto Expo.
Hero has another model in this segment, which has the name Dewlet. Though there are reports that the scooter will be unveiled in the following month, however sales would not happen immediately. It is unclear whether the specifications of the Dewlet will be as expected as no clear news on this has been obtained. It is though, almost certain that the Dewlet will be a 110 cc variety, which will help the two-wheeler giant to strengthen its position in the entry level scooter category. Hero currently sells two scooters, the Pleasure and the Maestro in this category.
