Pawan Munjal, Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp, spoke about the company’s aim of doing well in South American markets. “Colombia is one of the top two-wheeler markets in South America and, therefore, it is going to play a significant role as we continue to expand our footprint in the region. We are now building a manufacturing plant at Vila Rica in the Cauca province, which will be operational by the middle of next year.” The outlet count of the company is expected to increase to 150 units, officials from the company said. “Going forward, we will aim at making Colombia a base for expanding our operations to neighbouring countries in the region,” Munjal added further.

Splendor iSmart, Passion Pro 100 cc, Eco Deluxe, Glamour, Hunk and Karizma ZMR are the products launched by Hero MotoCorp in the Colombian market. HMCL Colombia SAS, a wholly owned subsidy of Hero MotoCorp, was opened by the auto maker to sustain operations in the country.
