The CBZ line of power-bikes from Hero MotoCorp had been present in the Indian market for more than a decade now. The bike has been rolling on the tarmac since the times when the 150cc bike segment was unknown to the masses. Back in April this year, India's largest bike-maker Hero MotoCorp had created quite a lot of buzz on the Twitter networking platform hinting a possible launch of the CBZ Extreme Sports sometime in 2014. The anticipated Xtreme Sports is stated to be an upgraded version of the Xtreme motorbike.

The yet to be launched CBZ Xtreme Sports shall be powered by 149.2 cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, ATFT engine that generates about 15.2 Bhp, which makes it slightly more powerful than the Xtreme version that generated about 14.2 bhp with a similar engine. The 150 cc bike is mated to a five speed manual transmission. Torque figures remain untouched with 12.8 Nm at 6500 Rpm. The top version of the Xtreme Sports may receive disc brakes for the front as well as rear wheels, whereas the lower version may get a front disc and a rear drum brake. Technologically the bike has received some interesting upgrades like Electronic immobilizer and Side stand down function that does not start the engine unless the side stand is pulled-up. An under seat mobile charging socket has also been provided for convenience. For added safety, the Xtreme Sports has received a wider rear tyre.

On the design front, the CBZ Xtreme Sports has received stylish front fairing, interesting body graphics and “Sports” decals on the tank air scoops. Turn indicators have been repositioned as compared to the previous version, whereas the headlamps have received a newly repositioned set of LED headlamps. The rear view mirrors feature dual tone shades that make it look a cut above the rest. The instrument cluster in this bike has received a blue back-light that gives it a visually appealing look. The upcoming Xtreme Sports bike is expected to compete against Pulsar 150 and the Fz-S line of bike. Pricing for the bike has not been revealed for now and maybe known post an official launch planned by the company sometime soon this year.
