Hero Electric has launched an all-new electric scooter – the E-Sprint – in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 54,090 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Hero E-Sprint is the ninth electric product in the company’s line-up that already has Cruz, Optima Plus, Photon, Maxi, Wave DX, Wave DX Extra Mile, Avior AMX and Avior AFX.
Powering the Hero E-Sprint is an 800W motor and 48V/33 Ah battery pack with multi-stage float and boost IC charger. This unit churns out a maximum power of 1200W. The company claims that the E-Sprint is an ARAI-certified higher speed electric scooter that can hit a top speed of 45km/h. The scooter comes with two driving modes – Eco and Power – that are claimed to offer a range of 80km and 65km respectively.
In order to achieve higher fuel efficiency and torque, the company has equipped the scooter with brushless DC motor that has a low electro-magnetic interference and 46 water-proof magnetic poles. It provides noiseless and smooth ride. The scooter also gets a 24MHz high-speed electronic controller with 12 mosfets that gives quick response to the engine with minimum signal losses. The Hero E-Sprint weighs 106kgs, and has a ground clearance of 150mm.
The scooter rides on 10-inch wheels that come with optional puncture resistant tube tyres. It is also equipped with telescopic fork upfront suspension unit. Features like PC headlamp, a mobile charger, anti-theft alarm and anti-skid brakes are also on offer. The Hero E-Sprint is available with a choice of four colours – Black, Red, Silver and Grey.
