Hennessey had stolen the Bugatti Veyron’s thunder with the Venom GT and the American car maker is back with the Venom F5, the Chiron-slayer. The Venom F5 has been named after the F5 tornado that generates a wind speed of about 300mph (480kmph).

Unlike the Bugatti Veyron challenger Venom GT that was built on a modified Lotus platform, the Venom F5 will get a bespoke chassis built ground up with only one thing in mind – to be the fastest production car ever. John Hennessey, the man behind Venom, has been working on the Venom F5 since 2014 and the car is expected to debut this year.

The Venom GT is powered by a massive 7.0-litre V8 turbocharged petrol engine that develops almost 1500bhp of power and the F5 will certainly get more under the hood to attain its goal. Back in 2014, Hennessey had aimed at 290mph (464kmph) but it seems the bespoke chassis and the all-new aerodynamics might allow them to go faster, to probably become the first production car to break the 300mph barrier.
