Trikes are not so common in the world of two-wheelers as of now, not even for the top-notch manufacturers such as Harley Davidson. The premium two-wheeler giant from the United States of America has their entire range of motorcycles for sale in India; however, their trike is not available yet in the country. Trikes are essentially three-wheeled motorcycles, which have become quite popular in America. As of now, Harley Davidson has only one trike up its sleeve, which is known as the Tri Glide Ultra. It has a semi-water-cooled engine, which is similar with the one used in Ultra limited from its range of Touring range of motorbikes, including the Road King Ultra Classic. The manufacturer will be launching a new trike, which will feature the same air-cooled 1688 cc mill.

If the reports can be trusted, the new trike will be given the name Freewheeler, which will signify the general freedom that complements riders on motorcycles. The storage panniers mounted on this bike are large enough to accommodate luggage for a weekend trip for two people. The combined capacity of the bike is nearly of 36 kg when the boot and optional Tour Pak are considered. This model is positioned just below the ultra-loaded Tri Glide and is no one bolt-on kit. Incidentally, the Tri-Glide chassis was designed to accommodate a three-wheel application.

Definitely, this category of bikes is new to India. However, it will definitely get the adrenaline pumping for those riders who want to explore the world on their bikes and have the physical strength to manoeuvre the near-400 kg machines at ease.
