GLC 63 AMG Coupe spied testing

We reported the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 being tested on the roads of Germany last month, however, we now have pictures of the car doing the rounds around their testing facility in the Arctic Circle.

Sources state that the unmistakeable roar of a high capacity V8 was what made them believe that the GLC on test was actually a ‘63’ AMG model. Currently, there’s no details but the car is expected to run the same engine that powers the C63 S AMG in a different state of tune. This 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo motor is originally capable of producing 503bhp and 698Nm of torque, and could make it to the GLC 63 setup with an AWD 4Matic system.

It is speculated that the camouflaged nose could be hiding a vertical slat grille like the one seen on the new AMG GT range. The test car can also be seen with quad exhausts and sportier bumpers. Furthermore, the pictures also show a regular (non-coupe) model that Mercedes-AMG may also introduce for those buyers who’d prefer one over the Coupe version.

Expect the GLC 63 to be debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the same time when Mercedes-AMG will showcase their F1-engined Project One. Stay tuned.
